Coating Production Manager

We are looking for a Coating Production Manager having the primary task to startup and run a coating facility for implantable medical devices, reporting to the Technical Director. The individual has a wide skillset, a deep understanding about coating manufacturing process, leadership and a very hands-on attitude. The individual recognizes the discipline required to keep production running in a strongly regulated environment but has the flexibility to adapt in a very dynamic and fast growing company.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:·       

  • develop and maintain production and control procedures, maintenance procedures & schedules for the equipment, and related documentation;      
  • ensure productivity, quality and production lead time;       
  • train, develop and manage the production team made up of supervisors, technicians and operators;
  • work with planning regularly to ensure that capacity is aligned with needs;      
  • ensure manufacturing process validation, supported by the Validation Department;     
  • ensure compliance with regulations and good manufacturing practices. 

Qualifications and Skills:    

  • at least 10+ years’ experience in coating industry and at least 5 years’ experience in a leadership role;
  • experience and thorough knowledge of production systems and processes;   
  • experience managing teams of people in a production environment;      
  • experienced in developing, implementing and improving key performance indicator metrics through strong data analysis and continuous improvement;    
  • remain engaged, proactive and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability for their success;      
  • work efficiently and productively in independent and team settings;     
  • able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines;     
  • able to write procedures and reports; 
  • able to stand Competent Authority Inspections / Notified Body Audits;   
  • fundamental understanding of GMP compliance, FDA/ISO compliance in the medical device industry, quality, validations life cycle, change management in the medical device industry;       
  • fundamental understanding of statistical techniques;      
  • fundamental understanding of lean manufacturing techniques;    
  • good with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);   
  • good knowledge of the English language (corresponding to B2 of CV Europass;
  • bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field.

Why does Medacta process personal data? 

Medacta needs to process data to process your job application. 

In some cases, Medacta needs to process data to ensure that it is complying with its legal obligations. For example, it is required to check a successful applicant's eligibility to work in Switzerland before employment starts. 

Medacta has a legitimate interest in processing personal data during the recruitment process and for keeping records of the process. Processing data from job applicants allows Medacta to manage the recruitment process, assess and confirm a candidate's suitability for employment and decide to whom to offer a job. Medacta may also need to process data from job applicants to respond to and defend against legal claims.

Who has access to data?

How does Medacta protect data?

For how long does Medacta keep data? 

If your application for employment is unsuccessful, Medacta will destroy or anonimize your data after the end of the relevant recruitment process. If you agree to allow Medacta to keep your personal data on file, Medacta will hold your data on file for 2 years for consideration for future employment opportunities. At the end of that period, or once you withdraw your consent, your data is deleted or destroyed. 

If your application for employment is successful, personal data gathered during the recruitment process will be transferred to your personnel file and retained during your employment. The periods for which your data will be held will be provided to you in a new privacy notice. 


Your rights

As a data subject, you have a number of rights. You can: 

  • access and obtain a copy of your data on request; 
  • require Medacta to change incorrect or incomplete data; 
  • require Medacta to delete or stop processing your data, for example where the data is no longer necessary for the purposes of processing; and 
  • object to the processing of your data where Medacta is relying on its legitimate interests as the legal ground for processing.
