Research technician for in vivo studies at SR-TIGET


IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan, Italy, is looking for junior scientist to join the laboratory of Prof. Aiuti at San Raffaele Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy (SR-TIGET), in Milan.

SR-Tiget is a joint venture between the Ospedale San Raffaele and Fondazione Telethon, founded in 1995 to perform cutting-edge research on gene and cell therapy and translate its results into therapeutic advances. The Institute has implemented several successful gene therapy clinical trials and have led, through collaboration with industrial partners, to the filing and approval of advanced gene therapy medicines (ATMPs).

Main activities:

  • Our laboratory team is involved in several research activities, going from the study of human hematopoietic stem cell biology up to the development of gene therapy strategies for inherited disorders; 
  • The candidate will support the research activities in the lab, with a specific focus on the in vivo functional studies and pre-clinical evaluation of novel gene therapy approaches in murine models. 

Who we are looking for: 

  • We are looking for a highly-motivated person to join our research group focused on developing novel gene therapy strategies for the treatment of lysosomal storage disorders;
  • The ideal candidate is motivated, hard working and interested in basic/translational research.
  • Previous experiences with colony maintenance, mouse handling and procedures (ie. intravenous injections, peripheral blood sampling and organ collections) are required;
  • Knowledge of molecular biology techniques (PCR, cloning, nucleic acid extraction, etc.) and cell biology experience (cell culture of immortalized or primary cells) are a plus;
  • Knowledge of English is required;
  • Master degree in biology/biotechnology is preferred.
