Junior Research Fellow - Immunobiology of Neurological Disorders Unit


IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan, Italy, is looking for a Junior Research Fellow to join the Immunobiology of Neurological Disorders Unit. The main interest of the lab is the biological processes associated with multiple sclerosis, an inflammatory disease of the central nervous system. The project aims to investigate the contribution of astrocytes in the inflammatory and demyelinating processes that occur during neuroinflammation (see Colombo et al. PNAS 2021; Colombo et al. Frontiers in Immunology 2020; Colombo and Farina Trends in Immunology 2016).

Main activities: 

  • Cellular biology;
  • Work on animal models for multiple sclerosis;
  • Histopathological analysis;
  • Molecular biology techniques; 
  • Data analysis.

Who we are looking for: 
a candidate with

  • a master’s degree in Biology/Biotechnology;
  • a scientific background in neuroscience;
  • Experience in cellular and molecular biology, histological techniques and animal experimentation is preferred;
  • English knowledge, problem-solving attitude and independence in work organization.
