POST-DOCTORAL POSITION IN THE DIVISION OF NEUROSCIENCE

IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan, Italy, is looking for a Postdoctoral fellow to join the RNA BIOLOGY UNIT. The main focus of our research is to understand the molecular basis underlying mRNA trafficking and translation in neuronal compartments, and how dysregulation of these processes leads to neurological disorders. More specifically, our lab is currently studying the roles of membrane trafficking in the regulation of protein synthesis during neuronal development and maintenance (ERC funded grant). To achieve our aims, we combine genome-wide analyses and cutting-edge imaging approaches in diverse animal models and cell culture systems. Candidates will be required to plan and carry out experiments independently and assisting other researchers to foster the laboratory’s research output. Salary will be negotiated based on candidates’ experience.

Main activities:

  • live-cell imaging
  • cellular and molecular biology
  • biochemistry
  • genome-wide analysis

Who we are looking for:

  • technical expertise linked to cellular biology, imaging and general molecular biology
  • strong interest in cellular and molecular neuroscience
  • previous experience with animal model is a plus

Work details:

  • Type of contract: Fixed-term contract
  • Duration: at least 2 years
